Lifeguard Tower Cut and Paste Craft for Summer Fun
This lifeguard tower craft is such a fun summer activity for preschool and kindergarten. It also works nicely as a simple community helper craft while still keeping the focus on beach themed fun.
I always enjoy making seasonal printable crafts like this. The bright colors and beach details make the finished project look extra cheerful.

This printable includes both a black and white template and a full color version. The black and white pages work perfectly as a color activity, while the color version is great for quick prep days.
The larger cut and paste pieces also make this craft easy for younger learners to assemble.
What you’ll need
- Free printable lifeguard tower template – grab it down below!
- Heavy printer paper or cardstock
- Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
- Glue stick
- Scissors

I like printing templates on cardstock because the finished craft feels sturdier and holds up better for display.
How to make this Lifeguard Tower Craft
This cut and paste craft is simple to assemble and works well for summer activities.
Step 1: Print the template
Print either the black and white template or the color template.
If using the black and white version, color the pieces before cutting them out.

Step 2: Cut out the pieces
Carefully cut around all the template pieces.
The printable includes:
- The tower building
- The stand
- The ladder
- The life preserver
This is great practice for scissors skills and hand coordination.

Step 3: Attach the main tower
Glue the top of the lifeguard tower building onto the bottom section of the stand.
Try to center it before pressing it down.

Step 4: Add the ladder
Glue the ladder onto the side of the tower.

Placing it at a slight angle gives the craft a more realistic look.
Step 5: Attach the life preserver
Glue the life preserver onto the railing section.

This little detail really completes the beach tower look.
A fun summer beach craft
This beach craft works perfectly for summer themes, ocean activities, and beach week lessons.
It’s also a nice low prep activity for busy days.
The color version can be printed and assembled right away, which makes setup extra easy.
Great for Preschool and Kindergarten
This craft works well for different age groups.
For preschool activities, smaller pieces can be pre-cut ahead of time. Kindergarten groups can usually complete the full cut and paste craft independently.
The large pieces also help make the activity feel less frustrating for younger learners.
This color activity is helpful for practicing:
- Fine motor skills
- Scissor skills
- Following directions
- Glue control
- Color recognition
- Learning about first responders
