Free Printable Mother’s Day Cards to Color
Today I’m sharing a really easy Mother’s Day project. It’s one of those things that feels thoughtful without taking a lot of time. These free printable Mother’s Day cards to color are simple, cute, and relaxing to make.
These printable Mother’s Day cards to color are one of those ideas that work in so many situations. You can make them at home, set them up in a classroom, or use them for a small group activity.

They also make such a sweet option for grandma!
You can print them, sit down with your favorite coloring tools, and take your time. It feels calm and creative, which is honestly my favorite kind of craft lately.
What’s included
This free printable set includes two different card designs.
- A butterfly design with hearts and flowers
- A breakfast in bed design with pancakes, a mug, and a flower
Both cards include a “Happy Mother’s Day” message and a space at the bottom to write a name.
What you’ll need
You only need a few basic supplies for this project.
- The Free Mother’s Day Card Printable (grab them down below)
- White printer paper or cardstock and printer
- Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
I usually go with cardstock because it makes the card feel more finished. But if you only have regular paper, that works perfectly fine too.
How to make your printable Mother’s Day card
Step 1: Print the designs
Print the cards on your preferred paper. If you’re printing for a group, it can help to print a few extra copies ahead of time. That way no one has to wait if there’s a mistake or if someone wants to start over.

Step 2: Start coloring
Let everyone color at their own pace. Some may want to use lots of bright colors, while others may keep things soft and simple. There’s no right or wrong way to do it.

Encourage taking time with the details like the hearts, flowers, or small objects in the design. Slowing down a bit can make the finished card look even nicer.
Step 3: Fold the card
Carefully fold each page in half to create the card. Take a moment to line up the edges so the front looks neat. Press down along the fold to make it nice and crisp.

Step 4: Add a name and message
Write a name in the “Love,” section at the bottom. You can also help add a short message inside the card to make it more personal.

Perfect for classrooms and group settings
This project works really well in a classroom or group setting.
There’s very little prep involved. Just print the cards, set out coloring supplies, and you’re ready to go.
Everyone can work at their own pace, which helps keep things calm and manageable. It’s also easy to clean up, which always makes a difference.
I also love that each card turns out completely unique, even though everyone starts with the same design.
A thoughtful option for grandparents too
These cards are also perfect for grandparents.
You can easily turn them into a sweet keepsake by adding a short handwritten message inside. The designs feel timeless and soft, which makes them a great fit.
Handmade cards are often the ones that get saved and looked back on. It’s such a simple way to create something meaningful.
