Free Printable Christmas Word Searches

Christmas is getting closer, so I’ve been making more printable Christmas activities! This time, I made free printable Christmas word searches for kids, with different difficulty levels.

Word searches are one of my favorite types of printable activities to make. They’re simple, don’t need much preparation, and are easy to take along when something quiet is needed.

Three printable Christmas word search puzzles for kids on a green background, with “Christmas Word Searches for Kids” text above them.

I made several Christmas word search puzzles with different difficulty levels. Just pick a difficulty level, print the worksheet, and start searching!

Free Printable Christmas Word Search Puzzles

There are different Christmas word search worksheets to choose from. Each puzzle has its own word list and difficulty level, so there’s something for beginners and more experienced puzzlers.

All puzzles are available as free printable PDFs.

Easy Christmas Word Search

The first Christmas word search is the easiest. It has eight short Christmas words, including Santa, tree, star, and snow.

The words are hidden horizontally and vertically, without any diagonal or backward words.

This version is especially nice for younger kids, including kindergarten and early elementary students who are beginning to recognize and read words.

Medium Christmas Word Search

The medium Christmas word search has 12 festive words to find. These include reindeer, snowman, stocking, wreath, and ornament.

Some words are placed diagonally, making this version a little more challenging than the easy puzzle.

I think this is a nice option for elementary school kids who already have some experience with word searches.

Hard Christmas Word Search

For kids who enjoy a challenge, I also made a harder Christmas word search with 16 words.

This puzzle includes longer words and phrases like gingerbread, peppermint, nutcracker, and hot chocolate.

The words are hidden in different directions, including backward and diagonal, so they take a little more searching to find.

It’s a fun Christmas activity for older elementary students and anyone who enjoys solving puzzles.

More Free Printable Christmas Activities

I’ve been adding more Christmas printables to the blog, so there are plenty of other activities to try after finishing these word searches.

My free printable Christmas mazes are another fun puzzle activity, with different designs and difficulty levels.

I also made Christmas I Spy games for kids who enjoy searching for hidden pictures instead of words.
