Disguise a Snowman Dinosaur Craft (Free Printable)
Turn a regular snowman into a cute orange triceratops with this printable disguise a snowman dinosaur craft!
Kids can color, cut, and glue the costume pieces over the snowman before completing the short writing prompt at the bottom of the page.
This easy disguise a snowman project includes a pre-colored template and a black-and-white version for kids to decorate themselves.

What you’ll need

- Heavy printer paper or cardstock
- Printer
- Crayons, markers, or colored pencils (optional)
- Scissors
- Glue stick
How to make the Dinosaur Snowman Disguise
1. Print the template
First, print out the snowman page and the dinosaur disguise pieces. Print out the pre-colored version for a faster activity or choose the black-and-white version and let kids color the dinosaur themselves.
2. Color the dinosaur (optional)
If you are using the black-and-white template, color the dinosaur head, body, and feet. Kids can use orange like the example or create a dinosaur in any colors they like.
3. Cut out the pieces
Carefully cut out the dinosaur body, both feet, and the triceratops head. Younger children may need a little help cutting around the dinosaur’s frill and toes.
4. Glue on the body
Place the dinosaur body over the snowman’s lower body. Line it up underneath the snowman’s head, then glue it in place.
5. Add the feet
Glue one dinosaur foot to each side at the bottom of the body. The feet should overlap the body so they look connected to the costume.
6. Glue on the dinosaur head
Place the triceratops head over the snowman’s head. Then glue the it in place.
7. Complete the writing prompt
Once the dinosaur snowman disguise is finished, kids can complete the sentence at the bottom of the page:
“I am not a snowman. I am a…”
They can write “dinosaur,” “triceratops,” or come up with a name for their dinosaur character. This simple writing prompt turns the craft into an easy winter classroom activity that combines coloring, cutting, gluing, and early writing practice.
