Nativity Coloring Bookmarks Printables for Kids

I recently added a new Christmas printable to my shop! These Nativity coloring bookmarks are a simple way to combine coloring with the story of Jesus’ birth.

The set includes four different Christian Christmas bookmarks featuring baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph, a wise man, and a cheerful angel with a donkey.

They’re easy to make with just a printer, coloring supplies, and scissors. And the best part is that the finished bookmarks can actually be used afterwards!

What’s Included in the Nativity Coloring Bookmarks Printable bundle?

This printable set includes four different black-and-white Nativity designs, each with its own Christmas illustration.

How to Make the Nativity Coloring Bookmarks

These bookmarks are really easy to put together. There is no complicated cutting or assembly involved, just print, color, and cut!

Step 1: Print the Nativity Bookmarks

Start by printing the purchased PDF file. Choose either the US Letter or A4 version, depending on the paper size.

All four bookmarks are included on one sheet, making it easy to print a complete set at once.

Since the illustrations are black and white, there’s no need to use a color printer.

Step 2: Color the Christmas Designs

Now for the fun part!

Color the Nativity scenes using crayons, markers, or colored pencils.

Traditional Christmas colors work beautifully, but I also love the idea of using soft pastels or making each bookmark a little different.

Step 3: Cut Out the Bookmarks

Once the coloring is finished, carefully cut along the outside edges of each bookmark.

The rectangular shape makes cutting simple, without lots of tiny details to work around.

Each finished bookmark measures approximately 2 x 6 inches.

Step 4: Laminate the Bookmarks (Optional)

For bookmarks that will be used regularly, laminating is a nice finishing touch.

Place the colored bookmarks inside a laminating pouch, laminate them, and trim around the edges. Leave a small sealed border around each bookmark.

This helps protect the paper and keeps the bookmarks from bending or tearing easily.

No laminator? That’s completely fine! Printing on thicker cardstock is another easy way to make them more durable.

The Christmas Story Behind the Bookmarks

The illustrations in this set are inspired by the Nativity story, particularly the accounts of Jesus’ birth in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke.

  • Luke 2 tells the story of Mary and Joseph traveling to Bethlehem and the birth of Jesus. It also describes the angels announcing the good news to the shepherds.
  • Matthew 2 tells of the wise men following the star and bringing gifts to Jesus.

Together, these stories make a meaningful theme for a Christian Christmas coloring activity.

While coloring the bookmarks, it’s easy to introduce the different people and symbols associated with the Nativity story, from the manger and Christmas star to the wise men and angels.
