The Cricut Maker is a versatile machine that can be used for a variety of crafts. However, there are some accessories that are essential to have if you want to get the most out of your Cricut Maker.
In this blog post, I will show you some of the best Cricut Maker accessories and how they can help you create beautiful projects. Keep reading to learn more!
Must Have Cricut Maker Accessories
The Right Type of Cricut Mat
So which mat should you use?
There’s the Light Grip mat (blue) for paper and light cardstock; Standard Grip (green) is great if your materials include HTV, vinyl or heavy cardstock. Strong Grips (purple) are perfect when working with thicker material like fabric or leather.
Weeding tools are a must-have for any Cricut crafter. There’s lots of them so I recommend buying a set just to find out which one you like best! Buying off-brand for some accessories will save you money. For example, I bought an off-brand weeding tool set and I like it just as much as the Cricut brand tools.
It’s just a personal preference! Some people disagree with me and think that only Cricut brand tools are worth the money but I say try out both and see what works best for you and your crafting needs.
Cricut Black Pen Set
I recommend buying the original Cricut pens for this, as off-brand alternatives could break your machine and invalidate its warranty. The original Cricut pens are available in a wide range of colors, so you’re sure to find the perfect match for your project.
Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, the Cricut black pens are the perfect way to add a personal touch to your holiday cards and gifts.
Cricut Scoring Stylus or Scoring Wheel
When it comes to scoring materials for easy folding, you really can’t go wrong with either a Scoring Wheel or a Scoring Stylus. However, each tool has its own unique advantages.
I personally prefer using the Scoring Stylus. I appreciate that with the Scoring Stylus you can Score and Cut without additional intervention – you can set it up in Clamp A and won’t have to remove the cutting blade. But for thicker materials like cardstock, I would recommend the Storing Wheel.
Cricut Scoring Stylus
The Cricut Scoring Stylus is one of those affordable tools that you didn’t know you needed until you had it. It’s great for scoring fold lines on paper and cardstock, making it quick and easy to create professional looking paper projects.
- Score and Cut without further assistance
- Not as effective with thick materials
Cricut Scoring Wheel
The Scoring Wheel is able to create extra-deep score lines thanks to the increased power of the Cricut Maker. This makes it ideal for thick materials like cardstock and poster board.
- Deeper scores for heavy cardstock
- You have to remove the cutting blade
Whether you’re just starting out with the Cricut Maker or you’ve been using it for a while, these essential accessories will help you create beautiful projects that are sure to impress.
