How to make the Jesus Calms the Storm Craft
This interactive Bible craft is easy to assemble with just a few basic supplies. You’ll need the printable, crayons or markers, scissors, a popsicle stick, and glue.
After purchasing the printable, you’ll receive a digital download that you can print whenever you need it, making it easy to use again for future Bible lessons or church activities.
Step 1: Print the template
Download and print the Jesus Calms the Storm craft printable. Regular printer paper works well, or you can use cardstock for a sturdier finished craft.
Step 2: Color the scene and Jesus
Color the storm scene and the Jesus figure using crayons, colored pencils, or markers. As you color, read the Bible story together and talk about how Jesus calmed the wind and waves.

Step 3: Cut out Jesus
Carefully cut out the Jesus figure. If needed, help with cutting around the smaller details.
Step 4: Cut the slit
Using scissors or a craft knife (for adults), carefully cut along the solid slit line on the boat scene. This opening allows the popsicle stick to slide back and forth, making the craft interactive.

Step 5: Attach the popsicle stick
Glue or tape a popsicle stick to the back of the Jesus cutout. Position it in the center so it will slide easily through the opening.

Step 6: Slide and play
Insert the popsicle stick through the slit in the scene. Move the stick back and forth so Jesus appears to sail through the storm. This interactive feature makes the Bible story even more engaging and gives everyone a fun way to retell the miracle.

Bible Passage
The story of Jesus calming the storm is found in Mark 4:35-41, with parallel accounts in Matthew 8:23-27 and Luke 8:22-25.
One of the most memorable moments comes when Jesus rebukes the wind and says, “Peace! Be still!” Immediately, the storm stops and the sea becomes calm.
This miracle reminds us that Jesus has authority over creation and that we can trust Him, even when life feels overwhelming.
