This time of year can get a little wild, especially if you’ve got kids at home. Between the holiday shopping, wrapping, baking (and more wrapping), I always look for low-prep activities that still feel festive. These free Christmas word searches totally fit the bill, just print and you’re good to go.

I’ll be adding more Christmas-themed word searches each year. I started with three levels: easy, medium, and hard. So there’s something for every age group and reading level. Whether your little one is just learning to read, or you’ve got an older kid who loves a challenge, there’s something here for them to enjoy. Word searches are such a simple way to sneak in a little learning while still keeping things fun and relaxed.

Here’s what you’ll find in the free downloads:

Easy Christmas Word Searches – Simple and short holiday words for early readers (ages 5–7). Words only go left to right and top to bottom, no diagonals or backwards directions.
Medium Level Word Search – A bit more challenge with longer words (ages 7–9). Words may appear horizontally, vertically, or diagonally in any direction (no backwards).
Hard Level Word Search – These puzzles are great for older kids (ages 9–12). The grids are bigger and the words are a bit trickier. Words can go in any direction: across, up and down, or diagonally. Letters may be used more than once, so keep an eye out!
