Mother’s Day Teacup Craft – With Printable Template

This teacup craft is an easy printable that turns into something really sweet. It’s great for Mother’s Day, but honestly it works for anyone special: moms, grandmas, stepmoms, even a neighbor or teacher you want to celebrate.

I was brainstorming some crafts for Mother’s Day while drinking a cup of tea, and that’s when the idea for this printable came together.

Something about a teacup just feels cozy and thoughtful, and I loved the idea of turning it into a little paper gift.

A Simple and Sweet Mother’s Day Teacup Craft (with a pocket for tea)

It’s easy to prep: just print the template, color it in, and glue the pocket on. You can tuck a real teabag inside.

The printable also includes two optional circle tags you can glue to the tea string. One says “Happy Mother’s Day,” and the other says “You’re tea-riffic!”, so you can pick whichever fits best.

This one’s great if you’re crafting with kids. Whether you’re a teacher doing this in your classroom, or a grandparent putting together a gift at home, it’s quick, cute, and doesn’t make a big mess.

Step 1: Print the teacup template

You can print the pre-colored version with the heart pattern, or go with the black and white version if you want to color it in yourself. I recommend using white cardstock to help the teacup hold its shape. The PDF includes the teacup, the pocket with foldable flaps, and two circle tags for the tea string.

Step 2: Color the teacup and pocket

Decorate the teacup however you like, or skip the coloring step altogether and print the pre-colored version with the heart pattern. If you’re using the black and white version, let kids get creative with their own designs.

Step 3: Cut everything out

Carefully cut out the teacup, pocket, and the circle tag you want to use. If you’re using the black and white version, it’s easiest to color everything before cutting. Follow the solid lines, and don’t forget to cut around the flaps on the pocket so they’re ready to fold.

Step 4: Glue the pocket to the teacup

Fold the flaps back along the dotted lines, then apply glue to the outside of each flap.

Position the pocket near the center of the teacup and press it down so the flaps stick. This creates a little space to hold the teabag. Let it dry flat before adding anything inside.

Step 5: Add the teabag

Once the pocket is secure, tuck a teabag or a pre-packed tea bag inside. Just make sure it fits snugly without bending the paper.

Step 6: Attach the “Happy Mother’s Day” tag

Use a small dab of glue or a glue dot to stick the circle tag onto the tea string. You can glue the circle tag directly onto the teabag tag.
